Committee Goals/Mission

The Program Committee will work with the Executive Director and Executive Board to assess training, educational, or programmatic needs of the membership, plan conferences, and develop appropriate programs to meet these needs.

Your Committee Chairs are Tasha Speck, Owosso Public Schools, MPAAA Past President & Co-Chair Kelly Dumas, Warren Consolidated Schools, MPAAA President. 

Meeting Schedule

The Program Committee currently meets on the third Thursday of each month (the day before the regularly scheduled MPAAA Board Meeting) at the MPAAA office from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A virtual meeting invite is also included in the invitation for those to attend virtually. Whenever weather and circumstances allow, in-person attendance is preferred. Additional days and times may be added as needed.

Member Expectations

  • Attend and actively participate in committee meetings, discussions, and planning sessions, contributing ideas, expertise, and thoughtful feedback. 
  • Take an active role in identifying the training, educational, and programmatic needs of MPAAA members and helping develop programs that address those needs. 
  • Assist with planning and executing MPAAA conferences and professional learning opportunities, including identifying topics, recommending and recruiting speakers, reviewing sessions, and supporting event logistics. 
  • Support the committee's goals and decisions and work collaboratively with other committee members and the Executive Director. 
  • Help evaluate programs and events and provide feedback and recommendations for future improvements. 
  • Represent MPAAA professionally and help promote participation in committee activities, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
