MPAAA Mentor Program
MPAAA Mentor Program
The MPAAA Mentor Program pairs an experienced Pupil Accountant or Pupil Auditor with a Pupil Accountant or Pupil Auditor looking for a mentor. The mentor shares expertise in state reporting, auditing and technical experiences. This program strives to assist participants to gain knowledge, skills and confidence required for a successful career in Pupil Accounting or Auditing. Mentees will be paired with Mentors based on 3 different criteria; location in the State, size of district, and SIS software utilized.

MPAAA Mentor Testimonials
"I am a first year in this new role and I appreciate the guidance everyone has offered me. The procedures that my mentor shared with me every week were very helpful. She never lacked for offering assistance when I reached out and I greatly appreciated it. Her reaching out to me helped me feel comfortable reaching out to a larger section of people at my disposal. The only drawback for me was that she was in a different district further away and things were done differently so it was hard to navigate what was required here that was not required there. I would still agree to a mentor from a further district versus no mentor. The help was greatly appreciated. Thank you for the opportunity." Lori R.
"So far everything is going really well. Kim has been really great about answering questions I've had and giving me guidance where needed. I really appreciate this program as I had no experience coming into this position and it helps knowing she is only a phone call or email away." Marlana K.
"I am very happy with my mentor Michelle J., she has been amazing. She is responsive and has helped me out with things I had no idea I even needed to do. At one point I told her that she could drop me because I felt like I had so many issues and she assured me that she was here to help and that is why she became a mentor. I feel very fortunate to have been paired up with her." Sarah B.
"I love the mentorship. It has really helped me a lot to understand what the state is looking for and being hands on." Tarek F.
"My mentor Kristen H. has been a wonderful mentor and always gives me good tips and helpful information. She has truly made my transition into this role a breeze." Harmony L.
"My mentor is really responsive, helpful and knowledgeable. I don't hesitate to go to her with any questions I have. I work pretty much solo in my District and don't have many other neighboring districts in my ISD that are similar in size or offer the variety of programming we do. My mentor has a lot of prior experience that she's very willing to share and give me advice on. I have enjoyed having another resource to connect with." Erika S.
