MPAAA has partnered with the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) in order to provide our membership official certification and training opportunities in the areas of Pupil Accounting, Pupil Auditing and Data Management.  MSBO certification was established in 1998, and is a voluntary system to attain professional certification.  MPAAA / MSBO Certification provides training to school business officials focused on:

  • Offering practical information to assist school business officials in succeeding in their employment.
  • Establishes a basis for advancing professionalism of school business officials; assuring school districts that current or prospective business officials have a base of knowledge about laws, regulations, and procedures for functioning in a Michigan public school.

The MSBO certification program provides information to school business professionals at the beginning of their careers and to assure continuing professional development throughout. The MSBO Certification Program was designed by MSBO's Professional Development Committee in conjunction with professionals working in the certification track areas: Facilities Management, Transportation, and Food and Nutrition Services and Michigan Pupil Accounting and Attendance Association. In other words, it was created by professionals in their respective fields.
