The 2020 MPAAA Salary Survey has been compiled and is available on the MPAAA website to our members. Current MPAAA members can open the survey directly by clicking HERE.
We had 300 members complete the survey, and the 140-page report sorts them by job function, as well as by regions of the state. As always, anonymity is well respected, and I hope you will find this year's survey report a valuable tool in understanding how you fit into the salary and benefit schemes in your work and your area.
To assist our members during the COVID-19 pandemic, MPAAA will be offering its Pupil Accounting Boot Camp twice this summer. These courses will be delivered via webinar and are available to MPAAA members at no cost.
Each of the six courses is being offered twice this summer. The courses are:
- Intro to Pupil Accounting 1 - July 21 and August 11 (AM sessions)
- Intro to Pupil Accounting 2 - July 23 and August 13 (AM sessions)
- Overview of State Reporting - July 27 and August 17 (PM sessions)
- Intro to CEPI - July 29 and August 19 (AM sessions)
- Days and Hours - July 31 and August 21 (AM sessions)
- The Recipe - August 3 and August 24 (AM sessions)
Members are free to choose either date for a specific course, and either take the full 6-course series or pick and choose any course they wish. Five of these six courses (all but The Recipe) DO count for MSBO credit towards certification. Credit will be granted for those taking the course. To see the full list of courses and choose the ones you wish to register for, please click HERE.
However, you MUST renew your MPAAA membership before the system will accept your registration in the course. See the article below on how to renew your membership, and I hope you will take advantage of these free courses this summer.
With COVID-19 sticking around WAY longer than was initially hoped, the Board of MPAAA has decided to change our venue for the fall conference for 2020. We will not be holding live conferences in Bay City or Petoskey, but instead will be holding a virtual conference.
If you had already made hotel reservations at the Doubletree in Bay City, you would need to call (989) 891-6000 and cancel them. If you had made reservations on the room block at the Inn at Bay Harbor for the UP conference, the hotel has already canceled those reservations. You can confirm if you would like by calling (855) 811-4402.
While we don't yet know the exact makeup of the virtual conference, we are working hard to make sure registered attendees can take certification classes, and that we make available the topics that are most relevant to our members during this unprecedented time. As we work out details, we'll update you in our Newsblast newsletters and online via our website.
The renewal function is now open on the MPAAA website to renew your membership for the 2020/21 year. This renewal will extend your membership through June 30, 2021.
The cost of renewal for the coming year remains $85, as it has been for the past several years.
The financial repercussions of the pandemic certainly require that any expenditure by school districts be carefully considered. Please keep in mind that MPAAA is dedicated to making sure our members have the most up-to-date information available from MDE and CEPI as we all navigate these fluid and uncertain waters.
You can renew your membership online with a credit card by clicking HERE, and signing into the member's area. Once logged in, you will have a 'Renew Your Membership' link you can use.
If you would prefer to send us a check, please complete THIS form to send in with your payment. All memberships will run through June 30, 2021.
Thank you for considering the renewal of your membership in MPAAA. We will do our utmost in the coming year to continue to earn your loyalty and ensure that your membership is money well spent.
