Due to the travel and meeting limitations we are all living under right now, MPAAA has decided to cancel the 2020 Spring conference, which HAD been scheduled for May 4-6 at the Grand Traverse Resort.
For those who have already registered for the conference, we will pay a full refund to whomever paid that registration fee. In the next day, we will be sending a survey to all registered attendees to provide the information we need to refund their fees. Unfortunately, as the billing cycle has closed since many of you paid with credit cards, we are unable to process refunds to those credit cards, and a refund check will be mailed to the person/address you designate.
Anyone who reserved a room under the MPAAA Room block at the Grand Traverse Resort has had their reservation canceled for them. If you wish to confirm, you can contact Grand Traverse at (800) 968-7352. The Holiday Inn Express has also canceled the block and all the rooms on it. You can call (231) 938-2600 to confirm.
Anyone who registered at the Cherry Tree Inn - (800) 439-3093 - or the Sleep Inn - (231) 938-7000 - or any other hotel should contact the hotel to cancel their reservations.
While we have to cancel the conference, we do understand that you still have pupil accounting questions. Please continue to send in any questions you have using THIS LINK, and we'll have the appropriate person provide an answer, and post those questions on our website, similarly to how we do the transcript of the State agency panels.
The 2020 MPAAA Salary Survey has been compiled and is available on the MPAAA website to our members. Current MPAAA members can open the survey directly by clicking HERE.
We had 300 members complete the survey, and the 140-page report sorts them by job function, as well as by regions of the state. As always, anonymity is well respected, and I hope you'll find this year's survey report a valuable tool in understanding how you fit into the salary and benefit schemes in your work and your area.
While circumstances force us to cancel our Spring Conference, we do understand that you still have pupil accounting questions. Please continue to send in any questions you have using THIS LINK, and we'll have the appropriate person provide an answer, and post those questions on our website, similarly to how we do the transcript of the State agency panels.
Keep in mind that you are encouraged to send in questions regarding how the State will account for the school that has been missed the past several weeks. However, since we don't yet know the extent of the closures, we may not hear answers on that until the extent of the disruption is fully known.
