The Michigan Pupil Accounting and Attendance Association is pleased to announce our fully virtual Spring 2021 Conference.  We will not let today’s circumstances prevent us from delivering the very information you need to do your jobs in the best available timeline.   While we are sad that we can’t see you in person this spring, we are excited to be able to offer you a Virtual Conference Library full of some of our most sought-after sessions.

How Does it Work?

Essentially what you are investing in is a complete library of information available at your fingertips, at your convenience. Sessions will include both recorded content and real-time virtual sessions that allow for questions and interaction.  

  • We will open the conference library to registered attendees on Monday, May 3rd. At that time, all certification courses and other completed courses were posted to the virtual library as recordings. Registered attendees are given access to the library through our website and may begin watching classes at their leisure.
  • Certification credit can be acquired by completing and returning a conference credit form that asks you for codes you will see during each certification course. This virtual format is actually a huge advantage because you can literally take every offered class you need to obtain your certification, where you would be limited by time at a live conference.
  • We will also have a limited selection of real-time courses offered during the conference opening.  We are working towards a real-time day (plans are still firming up) that will allow interactive sessions on our Legal Issues sessions, as well as the Legislative Update and the State Agency Panel, so questions can be asked and answered in real-time. We will also open a Q & A forum that will allow you to ask questions of the presenters from the various sessions and get answers. The advantage of the forum is that it also allows you to see other questions that have been asked and the response.

The content:

While we're still finalizing times and speaker preferences for the in-person session, we do know our content will include:

  • A CEPI Update on expected changes for this summer and the coming fall
  • An update on the Pupil Accounting Manual (PAM) and the Auditing Manual (PMAM) from MDE
  • A session on the coming changes to TSDL this summer, as well as another session on the new 3rd-grade retention reporting this summer
  • A session on the recent Auditor General decisions that have affected MDE and CEPI
  • A Legislative Update
  • Our State Agency Panel

We'll also have the following certification courses. Some will be held live during the conference (and recorded for virtual participation afterward), and some will simply be recorded and shared with all attendees virtually:

  • Pupil Accounting Legal Issues
  • Intro to Pupil Accounting I
  • Legislative Primer
  • Educational Data and its Uses
  • Intro to State Agency Resources

There is a tentative agenda below that lists all the courses we are currently planning on holding. As we are able to finalize everything, updates will be shared with all registered attendees.

The details:

The cost of the conference is $345 for MPAAA members and $445 for non-members. This $50 discount from earlier years allows for some of the cost savings of this virtual format to be shared with your districts.

Cancellation Policy & Contact Information

Registered members and guests will be accessed a cancellation fee of $100 for event registrations canceled on or before April 5, 2021. There will be no refunds for cancellations occurring after April 5th.

Please contact our Executive Director to request a cancellation for the conference or for any other event- or MPAAA- related question.

*NO REFUNDS* will be granted if cancellation is after April 5, 2021.
